The Vivian/Webster Family Album

This gallery is a look at where Bruce and I lived during our almost six years in "the District"--Washington, DC. When we first moved there we still had three kids living with us, Wes, Jon, and Crys, but by the time we moved from the house on Huntington Street to the one on Quebec Street, both Wes and Jon had moved back to Utah and California. Emily spent time with us after we moved to Quebec Street, and that's where we were living when we got two more dogs, Laverne and Shirley, so we still had a houseful.

Sandra Webster > Say hi to Bruce, THE DAD. I adore him. Our daughters' boyfriends and many small children have often feared him. Starving students and newlyweds at church know him as the Great BBQ King. Our dogs worship and honor him as the Wise and Wondrous Alpha Male.

Oh, yeah, and his kids love him.

Of course your can see, just by looking at him, how strong, handsome, intelligent and wise he is. He's also great fun to be with, one of the best listeners ever, has the most calming, wonderful voice on the face of the earth, and, as you can see, is amazingly sexy. Bonus for me, TMI (Too Much Information) for the kids.

Sandra Webster > This is Bruce and me together, on a trip to Jamaica three or four years ago. I know I'm smiling, but I knew even before seeing a copy of this photo that Bruce would look great and I just soooo wouldn't. I hate almost every picture ever taken of me. Bruce usually mocks, and occasionally gets really irritated with me for this. And I'm still just vain and self-absorbed enough to comment on it. But there's still time for me to take to heart the Vivian/Webster Family Motto Number 1: GROW UP AND GET OVER IT.

Sandra Webster > Now HERE is a picture of me that I absolutely love. In fact, it's my all-time favorite picture of me. It's just so, uh, me.

Sandra Webster > This is how Bruce has looked at me for over eighteen years: with a mixture of love and amusement. I, of course, am looking at him--as always--with absolute devotion. ;-)

Sandra Webster > This is our first Washington DC home, on Huntington Street. We moved into this house the last week in December, 1999. "We" included Bruce, me, Crystal, Jon, and Wes. We rented it from the then ambassador to Indonesia and his wife, who were slated to spend three years in Jakarta.

The kids, having lived for years in fairly new homes, were not at all happy when they first stepped inside this 70-year-old house. I promised them, however, that if they'd be patient, I'd turn it into something warm and inviting. This was a promise I was not at all sure I even knew how to fulfill, but in the end, it became one of my favorite homes, cozy and warm.

Sandra Webster > This is a shot of the living room during our second Christmas in DC. Our first year there we moved into this house just a few days before Christmas, so there were mostly boxes everywhere, but Crys managed to find our artificial tree, set it up, and decorate before Christmas Day. Go Crys!
