The Vivian/Webster Family Album

This gallery is a look at where Bruce and I lived during our almost six years in "the District"--Washington, DC. When we first moved there we still had three kids living with us, Wes, Jon, and Crys, but by the time we moved from the house on Huntington Street to the one on Quebec Street, both Wes and Jon had moved back to Utah and California. Emily spent time with us after we moved to Quebec Street, and that's where we were living when we got two more dogs, Laverne and Shirley, so we still had a houseful.

Sandra Webster > This is Laverne, but we almost always call her "Lovey". She's full of doggie love energy, except of course with strangers, when she transforms into "Demon Dog".

Sandra Webster > This was Deacon's way of either telling me he really, really, really wanted to go with me--or he really, really, really didn't want me to go at all.

Sandra Webster > This is Shirley. Just look at that sweet little puppy face. You'd be tempted to think, "Awwwh, what an adorable, sweet little dog." Well, she is sweet and adorable, when everyone does what she wants.

I keep thinking that if we'd seen Golam in LORD OF THE RINGS before we got Shirley, she may well have come out with a different name. "Oh, my precioussssss...."

Sandra Webster > Do you think there's something wrong with the fact that Bruce has taken more pictures of the dogs than he has of all our children? This is one of the reasons he takes so many--they're so insanely cute!

And in Bruce's defence, he would undoubtedly have taken more pictures of the kids if he'd had a digital camera when they were growing up. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Sandra Webster > I think this must be one of the most perfect dog photos ever taken, and it's without a doubt my favorite photo of Laverne and Shirley. Bruce took it, of course.

Sandra Webster > Bruce took the following photos as we walked home from voting (at John Eaton School, a few blocks away). It was a gorgeous and unusually balmy day--a perfect one for taking some autumn pictures.

Sandra Webster > This is my "oh, WHY do you have to point that camera at me--but I still love you anyway," look.
