Sarah Chase Vivian Ochs, Then and Now : Here's a gallery involves all things Chase. Sarah Chase was born on June 29, 1973 in the Portsmouth Navy Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia. While I have been adamant since her birth that no woman in her right mind would ever give birth in a Navy hospital, the experience did propel me to become a childbirth instructor. Still, I would never call it "a blessing in desguise"!

Aaron Hardy Vivian, Then and Now : Aaron was born just thirteen months after Chase, on July 23, 1974. Some people have asked me if I knew what I was doing having two babies so close together. The answer is no. But I was young and happy and I didn't know, then, that having children that close together was hard. It took awhile to learn that! Aaron was born in Utah Valley Hospital (now named--pretentiously, I think--Utah Valley Regional Medical Center), in Provo, Utah. His birth was distinguished by two facts: First, fed up with the doctor I'd been going to through the pregnancy, I changed doctors three days before he was born. I apparently liked living life on the edge. Second, I student-taught a Lamaze class the evening before he was born, while I was in early labor. What was I thinking?
